Getting Started: Doctoral Students

A guide to library services for students in the VTS Doctoral programs.

Help & Consultations

Email paynelib@vts.edu or call the circulation desk (703) 461-1733 anytime with questions, regardless of scope. A library staff member will get back to you quickly.

Look out for orientations, workshops, or how-to videos. The library partners with the Doctoral Programs office to offer workshops and programs during the summer residency and during doctoral writing week. Follow the Bishop Payne Library on Facebook for regular updates.

Meet with a Librarian:

Librarians are here to partner with you at any stage of your program or project.

Librarians are always eager to aid students and researchers in this area. They can help you identify resources for your topic or develop a search strategy to find the best materials. To contact a librarian, email paynelib@vts.edu. The library staff is here to serve and resource your studies.
